On Tuesday, June 4th students from Lincoln Junior High in Skokie were empowered while participating in an all-day event with Metropolitan Family Services staff focused on staying safe & healthy this summer. Metropolitan Skokie’s Substance Abuse & Prevention Program (SAPP) works to make a difference in reducing drug use among youth by enhancing protective factors and reversing/reducing risk factors. Students enjoyed a day full of activities including workshops, arts & crafts, a dance party and awards for teachers & students. After partaking in the series of workshops focused on substance prevention, bullying and summer safety, all students signed a pledge promising to make healthy choices this summer and were given a Metropolitan bag.
